If You Can Easily Automate Betting, Would You?

Many sports bettors don't have easy access to automation for their betting. If you're not one of the lucky few who understand computer languages and can write scripts to interact with sportsbooks' websites or APIs, or even create a betting bot, you might be missing out on a valuable tool that could enhance your betting experience. 

Imagine being able to simply tell your sportsbook, " If the odds change, please do this, " and it'll do it automatically for you! When we think about what truly makes a sportsbook stand out, we often consider aspects like competitive odds, quick payouts, and enticing bonuses or promotions. However, there's more to it than that! Interestingly, our recent survey revealed that this type of functionality is something that Ontario sports bettors would likely use.

We surveyed 350 Ontarians using Pollfish, which enabled us to connect with individuals who identify as sports bettors.  Before launching the survey, we felt optimistic that this feature would be well-received, and the feedback confirmed our hopes- an impressive 259 out of 350 respondents indicated they would likely use this feature to some degree. 


We also suspected that bettors might utilize it in specific situations, such as placing bets, rather than in others, like cashing out. However, when asked, the outcome was even more favourable than placing bets, with 275 of the 350 respondents indicating that they would likely use this feature to some extent.


Next, we want to investigate which types of bets this feature might be used for more frequently, such as live betting, where odds fluctuate quickly during a game, or futures betting, where odds change more slowly over time. We will delve into this further, but for now, what are your thoughts on using this feature?

Hurdles to Sports Betting for Newcomers.

Forty percent of respondents cited the biggest hurdle to starting sports betting as having the knowledge to make an informed bet. As Ontario's sports betting industry grows, more individuals are making their first sports bets. If you are a newcomer or have ever wondered what the most challenging part of getting into it is for others, here’s some insight. 450 Ontarians were surveyed using platforms such as  SurveyMonkey and Pollfish . Both allow you to conduct targeted surveys for a fee. The respondents were given multiple-choice answers to this question.
